Dragon Departs Station to Return Scientific Cargo to Earth – Area Station

At 11:00 a.m. EDT, flight controllers on the bottom despatched instructions to launch the uncrewed SpaceX Dragon spacecraft from the ahead port of the Worldwide Area Station’s Concord module. On the time of launch at 11:05 a.m., the station was flying about 259 miles over the Pacific Ocean.

The Dragon spacecraft efficiently departed the house station one month after arriving on the orbiting laboratory to ship about 4,000 kilos of scientific investigations and provides.

Tomorrow, floor controllers at SpaceX in Hawthorne, California, will command a deorbit burn. After re-entering Earth’s ambiance, the spacecraft will make a parachute-assisted splashdown off the coast of Florida. NASA TV won’t broadcast the de-orbit burn and splashdown, and updates shall be posted on the company’s house station weblog.

Dragon arrived on the house station July 16, following a launch two days prior on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Advanced 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Area Heart in Florida. It was the corporate’s twenty fifth business resupply providers mission to the house station for NASA.
